School honors boy fighting cancer with 'Superhero Day'

Williamstown, NJ (WTXF) Some little super heroes showed up in full force at a Gloucester County elementary school. It was all to support a classmate, Third grader Aidan Eberhardt who is in the fight of his life.

Aidan has a brain tumor but he got a huge surprise Friday. His school showed him big support as he undergoes chemotherapy.

Just 3 days after Christmas, Aidan Eberhardt was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. The diagnosis sent the third grader's life into a series of treatment and medical attention that no 3rd grader should have to deal with. But Friday, his friends and classmates at St. Mary's School in Williamstown invited Aidan in just to show how much he's loved.

In honor of Aidan, the school had a superhero day. They all dressed up as superheros, cheered as Aidan made his way down the halls, and came together to offer a little encouragement so their friend knows he's not alone.

Aidan has begun chemotherapy and has a battle ahead but his parents were grateful for today because they said this is a lot for a 3rd grader to handle and seeing his friends can make a big difference.

The school presented the Eberhardts with a check and continue to raise money through a YouCaring account to help with expenses. It was all about Aidan, his constant smile, and the cheers he got from his friends showed that for at least the day the school succeeded in encouraging him and making him feel like a superhero.

As you could see everyone is rallying around Aiden and his family and they say their support will continue. They have a YouCaring account to help the family with expenses. If you wish to donate, please click here.
