Search on for Wawa robber who hid gun in backpack

BURHOLME (WTXF) - A man robbed a Wawa at gunpoint after 11 p.m. last Friday, police say "with a handgun that was concealed inside of his backpack."

It happened at the Wawa in the 800 block of Cottman Avenue in the Burholme area.

Police say the gunman approached the counter. You can't see the concealed gun in the video, but there were footsteps at the top of the screen at one point.

The robber demanded money from the cash register, got an undisclosed amount, and was last seen running away on Cottman Avenue towards Central Avenue.

The suspect is described as 6'1" tall, with a thin build and light complexion. He was wearing a dark blue hooded jacket with a blue 'N' on the left front, a tan cap underneath the hood, and dark pants.
