Suspect charged in fatal shooting outside Theater of the Living Arts

PHILADELPHIA - Police have arrested Tylee Wilbur in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Friday outside the Theater of the Living Arts.

Police said the shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. Friday in the city's popular South Street entertainment area.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said patrolling officers saw a scuffle and heard a gunshot. John Green, the 25-year-old victim died about a half-hour later at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Small said the shooter apparently fled in a limousine, and three people were later taken in for questioning.

The shooting occurred two doors from the Theatre of the Living Arts, where many people were in line for a show by Chicago rapper Lil Durk, with supporting acts Hypno Carlito and Gunplay. Small said it's unclear whether the shooting was related to the show.

Wilbur was charged with murder, violation of Uniform Firearms Act and other related offenses.
