Police: Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Roosevelt Blvd. Crash

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) The Roosevelt Boulevard has been reopened after police say a man was traveling in the wrong direction.

The accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, a 29-year-old man driving a 2000 silver Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. Police say he struck a car head-on.

Police say he ran from the car and jumped off a bridge, landing 30 feet below. He died at Temple University Hospital. Police believe he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Three other people were hurt with minor injuries. The crash snarled traffic for nearly three hours.
