Students banned from wearing Peyton Manning jerseys at Colorado school

WELD COUNTY, CO- Students attending in one Colorado school district are now banned from wearing Peyton Manning jerseys.

School officials saying they are not allowed on campuses because of the number on the jersey.

Weld County District number six has a strict dress code, which prohibits students from wearing certain numbers due to gang association.

Manning's number 18 happens to be one of those numbers.

Bandanas and certain colors are also included in the bad.

"It's not something you can actually measure but we believe it does have an impact," Joe Tymkowych, a spokesperson for the Greeley Police Department.

The rule was put in place a year before manning joined the team.
