Suspect armed with box cutter sought in Rite Aid Pharmacy robbery

Police in Port Richmond are looking for a suspect they say robbed a pharmacy while armed with a box cutter.

On Sunday morning, August 28th at 9:15, the suspect entered a Rite Aid pharmacy located at 338 East Allegheny Avenue.

While inside the store a store employee watched the suspect conceal over $150 worth of toothpaste then leave through the front entrance without paying for the items.

When the employee confronted the suspect, the robber pulled a box cutter out from his pants pocket and pointed it at the employee. The employee stepped back inside the store while the suspect fled. He was last seen on C Street heading towards Clearfield Street.

There were no injuries reported during this incident.

Philadelphia Police describe the suspect as a black male, 5'8"-5'9", 40 years-of-age, dark with complexion, wearing a yellow, red and green shirt, and green pants.
