Suspect sought in North Philadelphia bank robbery

Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Northeast Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say a man entered the the Republic Bank on the 7000 block of Frankfort Avenue, and used a threatening note and verbal intimidation to demand money from a bank teller.

After the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of money the suspect fled on foot and was last spotted heading west on Ryan Avenue.

Police describe the suspect as a black male between 25 and 30 years, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build and a goatee. He was wearing a black puffy jacket, blue jeans and dark-colored sneakers at the time of the robbery.

Officials consider this suspect armed and should not be approached.
