Police: Man arrested in hit-and-run that injured SEPTA officer

MAYFAIR (WTXF) - Police arrested the man they say struck a SEPTA police officer who was out for a jog, and then took off.

Philadelphia police say their investigation led them to 34-year-old Jeffrey Soder, also known as Jeffrey Sickel.

The crash happened May 22. That afternoon at Rowland Avenue and Chippendale Street, Gary Miller was critically injured when he was hit from behind.

Miller, 44, was on his weekly jog with his wife.

Soder is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault while DUI, accident involving injury, no license, leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, DUI, simple assault, and related offenses.
