Tioga Barricade Cleared, Neither Man Found Inside Home

SWAT teams responded to a domestic situation in the Tioga section of Philadelphia Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene on the 3700 block of North 16 th Street around 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, a 27-year-old man had ended a relationship with a 23-year-old man. The younger of the men left the home, then returned with a handgun.

Police say the 23-year-old then locked his former partner in a closet.

The older male had been in contact with police, but authorities say they lost contact.

After a standoff lasting several hours, SWAT cleared the home and did not locate either man inside.

SWAT teams evacuated residents on the second and third floors of the building.
