Lanes reopen after tanker overturns in Bucks County

- The southbound lanes of Route 611 have reopened after 4,000 gallons of fuel spilled onto the roadway in Warrington, Bucks County Thursday evening. Meanwhile, cleanup continues on the northbound lanes.

It happened around 8 p.m. Thursday on Route 611 and Freedoms Way. SkyFOX flew over the scene which showed the tanker blocking the roadway.

The tanker has since been removed from the scene.

According to officials several people were evacuated from nearby homes to Tamanend Middle School, but have since been allowed to return to their homes.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, and say they believe a pickup truck may have swerved into the northbound lane where the tanker was traveling and may have contributed to the crash.
