Teen charged with shooting friend while playing with gun

A 17-year-old is under arrest and charged with shooting a friend while playing with a gun.

Police say Elijah Fauntleroy turned himself in, Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 3am that morning, the shooting was reported in a house on the 5600 block of Bloyd Street.

Police found the 14-year-old girl shot in both her right hand and right upper chest.

She is now listed in stable condition and told police one of her friends -- Fauntleroy - "was playing with a handgun" and "pointing the handgun at everyone when the handgun went off."

Officers also found a revolver and a rifle at the rear edge of the roof.

Fauntleroy is charged with aggravated assault, theft-receiving stolen property, possessing an instrument of crime, possession by a minor, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
