Threat closes 3 Gloucester County school districts; 10-year-old charged

- A 10-year-old boy accused of emailing threats that caused three New Jersey school districts to close has been criminally charged.

Police say the student was charged with making terroristic threats and causing a false public alarm.

Franklin Township and Delsea Regional School Districts both notified students and parents they would be closed for the day after Franklin Township received the email.

Delsea Regional Schools closed due to its close proximity to Franklin Township Schools. Police say the schools will reopen on Friday.

Authorities say the boy sent messages to teachers and school administrators claiming that there would be shootings at two different schools Thursday and Friday. He has been released pending a psychological evaluation.
