Tornado blows across cornfield in Illinois

A tornado was spotted cutting across a cornfield near Sidney, Illinois, on Friday, September 9.

Forecasters confirm the four tornadoes touched down in Central Illinois, with one near Sidney. They swept through Champaign County at around 7PM.

There was some damage to buildings in small towns within the county and a farm was leveled from the twister.

After 8PM, the tornado threat moved into Indiana where significant damage was reported in the town of Homer.

Luckily, The tornado threat did bypass the University of Illinois.
