Tredyffrin Township police investigate strong armed robbery

Wayne, Pa. (WTXF) Tredyffrin Township police say they are investigating a strong armed robbery that happened in the Gateway Shopping Center in the Wayne section of the township.

The incident happened on Thursday, May 19th around 8:15 p.m.

Police say a female shopper was walking in the parking lot near T.J. Max when a blue/teal colored automobile occupied by at least two males pulled next to her. One of the males grabbed the victim's purse as the vehicle accelerated away, dragging the victim by her purse for a distance, according to investigators.

The victim sustained multiple injuries to face, chest and extremities. The vehicle was last seen exiting toward the Mobil station to the west side of the shopping center.

Police describe the vehicle as an older model car, blue/turquoise in color with a gray rear bumper and a loud exhaust.

According to police, the first suspect is describe as in his late teens to early 20's, light blonde hair with a thin mustache. Investigators describe the second suspect as 6 ft. tall, thin build, late teens to early 20's, light beard and mustache, who was wearing a gray red lettered "CALI" t-shirt, blue baseball hat with three stars on front of the cap with a red bill, black sweat pants and black and white sneakers.

Police say about 30 minutes after the robbery, the second suspect used the victim's credit cards at the Malvern Wegmans and Malvern Target Stores in an attempt to purchase Crest White strips and razor blades.Further attempts to use the victims stolen credit cards at a Lancaster County Turkey Hill occurred approximately 1 ½ hours after the robbery, according to authorities.

It is believed that the suspects may reside in the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania area.
