Tree trimmer injured after limb falls on electric line

Officials say a tree trimmer was injured after a branch hit a SEPTA electric line on Thursday morning.

According to emergency responders, a tree removal company was cutting down a tree when a branch swayed and hit a live wire.

A worker then came into contact with the bumper of the utility truck during which an electric current travel down the tree, through the truck and shocked the worker.

When crews arrived the man was reportedly lying on the ground conscious and awake, but critically injured.

The worker was stabilized by paramedics on scene and taken to the hospital.
