Twist of fate brings wedding bells for local couple

Aston, Pa. (WTXF) A twist of fate brought two people together and now wedding bells are ringing. It's like a script from a Hollywood movie. A woman goes into labor at home 30 years ago and now the baby is marrying the stepson of the paramedic who responded.

The storybook fairytale began October 9,1984 in the foyer of a home in Aston, Delaware County.

Giving birth to her third child, Louise Gaspari, never made it to the hospital. It was a paramedic who got there first to help deliver the baby girl named Natalie. Well, fast forward 30 years that godsend, the paramedic , is still in Natalie's life. The baby Natalie and paramedic Ben Ash have never lost touch.

"It was nice to have him part of my life because not many people even talk to the doctors that delivered them," Natalie told FOX 29.

Now a police chief for Bethel Township, Ash has delivered 11 babies in his long career. But the bond he began with an infant in 1984 has lasted a lifetime.

"She's stayed in touch with me, She invited everything that Natalie was involved in," said the father of the groom, Ben Ash. "I could not tell you how important that was in my life."

He's been there her birthdays, school plays, graduations, and now her wedding day. And guess who she is tying the knot with? The paramedic's stepson, David.

After hearing his dad talk about the little girl he delivered, he finally met her. Their parents set them up on a date and the rest of history.

"I'm so excited to marry him and to spend the rest of my life with him," said Natalie.

The couple will have a real life fairytale wedding.. Even the invitations say so. A perfect story book beginning for a new couple.
