Two men sought in connection with sexual assault in Center City, police say

Philadelphia police are seeking two men in connection with a sexual assault and robbery in Center City.

A woman was walking in the 1300 block of Lombard Street about 5:30 a.m. March 4th. Police say an unknown man grabbed the woman and strangled her. According to investigators, he then took her to the 400 block of South Watts Street.

It was at this second location authorities say the man punched the woman in the face and the head. Then, the man sexually assaulted the woman, according to investigators.

The woman was carrying a backpack which the man took from her. The woman required medical treatment for the injuries to her face and head, police say.

Police discovered the second man during their investigation. Authorities say the second man acted as an accomplice. That man is seen in surveillance video.
