Victim in double shooting ID'd, survivor stable

A double shooting over the weekend killed one man and wounded another. It happened at about 9:25pm Saturday in the city's Brewerytown section.

Officers responded to a radio call about a 'Person with a Gun' on the 1700 block of N. Newkirk Street. They found 25-year-old Nashawn Jones from the 2000 block of W. Toronto Street lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead within an hour.

Then, officers were told a second shooting victim had been taken to the hospital, also with a gunshot wound to his chest. That 45-year-old man is listed in stable condition.

Police say the motive for the shootings was an argument, nobody has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
