Vietnam cracking down on illegal animal part trade by burning

Vietnamese authorities burned nearly 5,000 pounds of seized elephant ivory and rhino horns on Saturday.

The country is hoping to send the message they want illegal wildlife trafficking stopped.

They gathered the parts in containers and then grounded them down, before burning them.

The horns were worth more than $7 million on the black market.

Vietnam is one of the world's major transit points and consumers of trafficked ivory and rhino horns.

Next week, it's going to host a conference on illegal wildlife trade. Officials and experts will be there, including Britain's Prince William who has been a vocal critic of the illegal wildlife trade.
