WANTED: Suspect for attempted abduction in North Philly

The Philadelphia Police Department Special Victims Unit is trying to identify the individual depicted in surveillance video walking with a victim. They say that same man grabbed her from behind and attempted to drag her into a vacant lot.

The victim, a 20-year-old woman, had exited a SEPTA bus at Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue when she encountered the unknown black man near Ridge Avenue and Cecil B. Moore Avenue.

The suspect engaged the victim in a conversation stating that his name was "Semaj." When the victim got to a lot located at 2546 Ridge Avenue, the man grabbed her from behind and attempted to drag her into the vacant lot. The victim was able to break free and call for help.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old black man who goes by "Semaj," stands around 5'6" and has a thin build. He was seen wearing shorts with a Nike emblem on the left front side, a white t-shirt, white sneakers and a baseball cap possibly red in color.
