WATCH: Engagement ring tumbles into pond during proposal

A man's proposal to his girlfriend of four years did not go as planned.

Seth Dixon was planning on proposing to his girlfriend, Ruth Marie Salas, at their favorite spot in Loose Park, Kansas City, according to an interview they gave to KMBC. As he got down on one knee and was about to pop the question, he fumbled with the ring and dropped it, sending it on the way to the river bottom.

According to a post from the photographer there to capture what was supposed to be a beautiful moment, friends turned up at the park and began fishing for the ring. Photos taken by Staci's Dabney Photography show the friends diving in the water while the couple watched from the bridge above.

The ring was reportedly never found, but a GoFundMe page was created to replace it. As of writing, about $220 out of $4,000 has been raised.
