Winter Weather Advisory Remains in Effect For First Day Of Spring

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect on Friday for the Philadelphia area right in time for the first day of spring. Wet snow arrived Friday morning is will continue throughout the day.

Expect a slushy accumulation of 1" to 3" in the city and 3" to 5" north and west. As far as the timing, by daybreak the snow will move into the area. From noon-5 p.m. we will see the heaviest rain and wet snow. Between 5-9 p.m. the snow will taper off.

There will be tricky travel on untreated roads. According to Chief Meteorologist Scott Williams, expect slippery conditions on Friday evening. Temperatures will be above freezing, which will limit accumulation, but support the slushy snow.
