Woman allegedly grabbed inappropriately by man on bike

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) Police are investigating an incident where a woman says she was grabbed as she was walking right by 10th and South Street. The victim says she was touched inappropriately. The suspect is still on the streets tonight.

On the 1000 block of Rodman Street just off South Street, women are keeping a close eye out after police issued a bulletin about a suspicious man on a bike .

"A Hispanic male riding on a ten speed bike approaches her from behind and inappropriately touches her," said Philadelphia Police Lt. John Stanford.

Police say the incident occurred Tuesday night around 11:20 p.m., a 47-year-old woman was walking down Rodman behind a local supermarket near a park, when the man on the bike allegedly grabbed her.

The street is well lit, but there were no surveillance cameras visible on the buildings. This is just a half block away from the 3rd Police District's sub station for South Street.

"We just want people in that area to be aware of their surroundings. Look out for anybody that looks suspicious," said Lt. Stanford.

Police are trying to locate surveillance video near the scene. They will increase patrols in the area.
