Woman charged with hitting pedestrian after threat

A woman is under arrest after Philadelphia police say she hit another woman with her car on purpose.

They said Mariandely Miranda almost hit a pedestrian who was walking southbound on 16th Street crossing over Vine Street.

Then, the two exchanged words and the driver threatened, "If you don't move, I will move you."

That's when Miranda, according to police, "hit the gas and ran over the complainant, with both passenger side tires running over the complainant."

Witnesses chased the car, taking pictures of it and then the driver when she stopped, a block away.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with a fractured pelvis, hip and tailbone.

Last Friday, police arrested Miranda and charged her with attempted murder, aggravated assault, accident involving death, terroristic threats and related offenses.
