When she came at officers with the knife, she was shot by police. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died.
An internal investigation is underway. No officers were injured in the shooting.
Jacobs, 24, bravely posted a video of herself having what she described as a 'meltdown,' saying "This is what having Asperger's is really like."
The video captured the heartwarming moments her dog Sampson stepped in to prevent her from harming herself.
Sampson uses his paws to try and stop her from hitting herself as she cries, and licking her face.
The original video has since been made private.
