Bar's welcome mat meant to take a stand and be stepped on

Visitors to a bar in Virginia have some controversy to go along with their cocktails.

The Krossroads Rock and Country Bar in Virginia Beach has been under fire for the past few days. That's since it taped a San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick jersey to the floor by its entrance, to be stepped on as a welcome mat.

Several people shared photos of the jersey taped to the floor on Facebook and got varied responses, but many angry.

Kaepernick has drawn controversy for kneeling instead of standing for the National Anthem before football games.

He has said he's protesting systemic racism in the United States, particularly in policing.
