ESKIN: Stop with the Eagles QB drama

The quarterback drama continues with the Eagles, but I wonder; why all the drama? Every time I hear about Carson Wentz there are two questions.

Is Wentz the real thing? Will he be a franchise quarterback?

When he will play or start for the Eagles?

The first answer is a difficult one. He's a great person. He handles himself very well. He's a very intelligent person and player. But no one knows how that will translate on the football field. The Eagles hope Carson Wentz is that franchise QB, but we may not know for at least two years.

The second question is an easy one to answer.

I do not expect Carson Wentz to start for the Eagles unless there are injuries or if the Eagles may be out of the NFC East race near seasons end. However I think the Eagles will compete with Sam Bradford.

There is another element to Wentz starting. I don't think he will be dressing for the games (unless there is an injury). Most teams do not dress a third quarterback anymore. Teams use that spot for a player that will play in the game.

It's obvious the fans will be angry and scream for Wentz to play when Bradford has a bad game. But the reality is that Chase Daniel is the backup quarterback. Yes, remember him who the Eagles paid $7 million this season.

Just sit back don't get caught up in the drama and understand Sam Bradford is your quarterback.
