Rodgers: Playoffs are expectation for Wentz regardless of McNabb's comments

The NFL Draft is coming up on Thursday, and while I don't think that the Eagles will be picking up a quarterback, one former Eagle thinks they should consider it.

Donovan McNabb made headlines earlier this week when he said the Eagles should draft a quarterback if Carson Wentz can't take the Birds to the second round of the playoffs in two or three years.

In response to McNabb's comments, Lane Johnson defended Wentz.

Here's the thing… McNabb isn't wrong.

Donovan has since clarified his comments, saying there's no "beef, riff, or ill-will" towards Wentz and the Eagles. He says he was just trying to share his perspective on "how the business of football works," and that tough decisions are made because of health concerns.

Carson's health is a concern.

We had a chance to talk with Wentz last Monday and he was asked if he's tired of questions about his durability.

He responded by saying he gets it. He just wants to move past it, but the only way he'll be able to do that is to be durable, get back on the field and play 16 games.

The bottom line is, with a big contract looming, the playoffs should be the expectation no matter what.
