SREDENSCHEK: Bradford's time in Philly… END IT NOW

Watching Sam Bradford's press availability at the Eagles NovaCare Complex on Tuesday was in a single word, painful.

He clenched his teeth and answered questions wearing an Eagles sweatshirt with an Eagles banner behind him. But you were almost reminded of the Billy Joel 'Piano Man' lyrics: "There's some place that he'd rather be."

The Eagles have to move forward. Now, before training camp and the 2016 season starts.

Without Sam.

Bradford was brought back on a 2-year deal before the trade with Cleveland that landed them the #2 pick in this year's draft, and ultimately, Carson Wentz. He was brought here before free agency brought them Doug Pederson-groomed Chase Daniel. He was brought back as the guy for 2016. 2 moves after, he is keeping the seat warm for Wentz.

It showed on his face Tuesday. It resonated in his voice Tuesday.

He talked about not being naive to his future with the team. He was honest, and he was right. He can win 12 games, take the Eagles to the playoffs, and probably still won't be the starting quarterback in 2017. He knows it. The future isn't bright here. He doesn't need shades.

The Eagles owe it to him to let him go. Move forward themselves. Doug Pederson was brought to Philadelphia by Andy Reid in 1999 to groom Donovan McNabb. By the middle of that season, Donovan was in and Doug was out. Chase Daniel knows the Pederson offense. Let him groom Wentz. Let the future unfold. But for the sake of sanity, do it without Sam.
