SEATTLE, WA - Love was in the air Friday. Around 30-thousand miles up to be exact.
A Washington couple provided the in-flight entertainment when they married high up in the clouds aboard an airplane.
The unique wedding venue was all to fulfill a dying family member's last wish.
Kristy and Jim Larsen are still on cloud 9 after saying I do on Friday.
"It`s wonderful we`ve been together the better part of 5 years now,” Jim said.
But how they said I do is really making sparks fly on social media.
"Tagging me on Facebook, strangers -- the YouTube videos -- before we even landed all the YouTube videos they were up,” Kristy said.
The two love birds were wed 35,000 feet in the air on an Alaska Airlines flight coming from L.A. to SeaTac Friday night.
Kristy is a flight attendant for the airline. She and her new hubby planned the big shebang.
To grant three wishes to her mom, Billie Jo, who’s fighting stage 4 cancer.
"My mother is the world to me, anything to make my mom happy,” Kristy said.
Billie Jo has always wanted to see where Kristy works.
She’s always wanted to see where Kristy lives. And she’s always hoped to see Kristy marry the man she loves.
Kristy said, "She wanted to come out and see where we were at because she knew I was happy out here in Seattle and wanted to come see Seattle and see our house here and just have a visual of what our life was like up here and that really it really touched me."
A plane full of passengers looked on as Kristy made her way down a very different aisle.
Wearing accessories she designed herself, it’s a flight of fancy not to be forgotten any time soon.
"It’s been really overwhelming but really exciting and I’m glad that we were able to share love and joy with people and really touch people and make their flight a really fun experience,” Kristy said.
