High school finds unique way to beat midterm stress

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Final exams are quickly approaching and one Cobb County high school has found a unique way to relieve the stress of their students.

Two golden retrievers greeted and played with South Cobb High School students Friday, just before exams.

"With all the stress coming around, it's good to have a helpful companion to be around, pet and tell you everything's okay," said sophomore Gailynn.

The pups hung out all afternoon at the school in Austell.

"When you walk in here, you see the atmosphere definitely changes the way you feel and think, it lightens your mood," said senior Joshua.

High school officials partnered with the organization CAREing Paws, Inc. to make it happen as a stress relieving technique right before the end of the semester.

"We all know that when we were in school it was very stressful, so it would relieve the stress for the students," said Jo Lahmon, Regional Manager, South Cobb Public Libraries.

School officials several universities around the country already bring dogs onto campus for finals time including Emory and North Carolina.
