Blood-covered woman tells cops to check on friend, who is found dead

A Virginia woman was still covered in blood Thursday morning when she walked into the Richmond Police Station and told authorities to check on her girlfriend - who was later found stabbed to death inside her Highland Springs apartment, WWBT reported.

Sheena Yolonda Wilson, 33, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Ava Latae Tucker. Wilson admitted to the murder, according to a police affidavit.

"She was a caring wonderful girl," Tucker's uncle, Chris Tucker, told WWBT. "She didn't deserve that. She didn't deserve it at all."

The couple moved into the Viviana Hall complex a few months ago and fellow residents described them as being mostly quiet. But neighbors also reported hearing "a big boom sound" and "tussling" prior to Tucker's body being discovered.

Arriving officers found "blood throughout the apartment," a "knife with red stains in a sheath" and "assorted clothing items with red stains," according to the affidavit.
