The first blast of frigid air is set to hit the area this weekend with highs in the upper 30s and lows as low as the mid-20s! Wind chills won't help matters either, and could have things feeling like the 20s.

On top of all of that, we are facing the return of the "Polar Vortex." However, the brunt of the vortex should miss us, and we could just see a piece of the vortex that is making its way across Canada next week.

The vortex will come closes to our area next Thursday, which Is why this weekend will likely just be the start of the dropping temperatures. Regardless, the vortex should make its way back to the north by next weekend.
