Hot streak to continue before afternoon showers Thursday, more rain Friday

Relief from the heat is on the way Friday, and it will be arriving in the form of pouring rain.

Thursday is still expected to reach a high of 92 after nearly a week of temperatures in the 90s with a chance of storms later in the day.

Friday, cold fronts will start to move into the area, bringing showers and thunderstorms with them in the early afternoon and later into the day. By 3 p.m. most of the area will be facing a risk of severe storms, with an inch of rain possible in some areas.
