Weather Authority: Snow overnight into Sunday

The Philadelphia area is slated for its first snowfall of 2019.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 1 a.m. Monday.

Dry, fluffy snow is falling at a decent clip. There could be a lull in the activity in the early morning hours. A low is expected to develop off the coast of the Carolinas, which will regenerate the snowmaking.

Expect snowfall into Sunday afternoon and possibly into the evening as well.

The snow should begin to taper off north to south mid-afternoon Sunday. The Philadelphia area is forecasted to receive 2-3 inches of snow.

Areas further to the south will get the most snow, with parts of South Jersey and northern Delaware seeing as much as 3-6 inches.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for inland Sussex County and Kent County in Delaware from 7 p.m. Saturday through 1 a.m. Monday.
