Police investigate attempted kidnapping, string of luring incidents in Bethlehem

Police in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania are investigating an attempted kidnapping involving a local college student early Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred just before 10 a.m. when an 18-year-old woman who is a student at Moravian College told police she was approached by a man on the 900 block of Moncacy Street.

Police say the suspect approached the student, grabbed her by the arm and asked her where she was going. The student then told the man not to touch her, before he grabbed her hand and refused to let her go, causing her to scream.

When the student screamed the suspect let go and ran toward a light blue, older model sedan and fled the area.

Police say multiple incidents involving the same suspect and vehicle have been reported, including incidents involving Bethlehem School District students. In those incidents, investigators say the suspect attempted to lure students to his vehicle.The suspect has been described by police as a black male, standing approximately 5'10", with a medium to heavy build.
