Police: Man shot in chest after refusing attempted robbers' commands in Germantown

A man remains hospitalized after police say he was shot during an attempted robbery in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 5000 block of West Knox Street just after midnight Thursday morning.

Police say the 43-year-old victim was walking to his girlfriend's house when two men approached him to rob him.

At that time, police say the victim refused to give the suspects any of his belongings, and he was shot in the chest. The victim managed to run to his girlfriend's house and police were called.

He was taken to Einstein Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
