Man charged with 5 burglaries over the past 5-1/2 months

- A string of burglaries to businesses around Philadelphia dating from April to just two weeks ago may have come to an end.

Police say Angel Delvelle’s tattoos seen in surveillance videos identified him as a suspect in five incidents.

On April 12, someone broke into to DAS Inc. at 3907 G Street and removed two safes containing company documents and an undisclosed amount of money.

On July 18, money and a DVR security system were stolen from Ciabao Restaurant at 3382 Frankford Avenue.

On Sept. 1 at 1:30am, someone broke through a door to the La Borinqueria corner store at 866 E. Ontario Street and tried to force an ATM open with a crowbar. He was interrupted and got away without anything.

An hour later, someone forced a basement grate door open at the Mendoza Mini-market at 1900 E. Madison Street. That person took several packets of cigarettes and money.

Finally, on Sept. 10, someone removed exterior bricks, creating a hole, and got inside A and D grocery store located at 2951 N. 3rd Street. He couldn’t force open the ATM but took an iPad, MacBook laptop, cartons of cigarettes, money, and a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun.

Tuesday, authorities executed a search warrant at Delvelle’s home in the 3400 block of Frankford Avenue. They arrested the 57-year-old without incident.

Delvelle is charged with five counts of burglaries and related offenses.
