Saving a rare sea turtle found too far from home

A very rare sea turtle took a wrong turn on a long swim. Now, it's getting help from veterinarians thousands of miles away to keep it alive.

Staff at a veterinary clinic in Wales are keeping the rescued turtle Menai warm and safe.

People found Menai stranded on a beach on the Menai Strait, which separates Anglesey from the rest of North Wales. That's thousands of miles from its natural tropical habitat.

The turtle is an extremely rare kind of sea turtle, either the Olive Ridley or the Kemps Ridley species.

Menai's more normal waters are around Mexico or the Southern U.S.

This could be the first time an Olive Ridley sea turtle has been found in the U.K.
