Police search for a wanted carjacker in Claymont

Police are on the lookout for a carjacking suspect. The victim of this carjacking is speaking to FOX 29 for help.

She claims that car was her livelihood and now she is struggling to make ends meet without it.

This woman also tells FOX 29 her young son was in the car at the time, but he was able to get out before the suspect took off.

"I grabbed my son and I was just in shock! I was just like oh my God," Deneisha Woodbury exclaimed.

It was her reaction after she says someone not only stole her car from a Delaware Wawa, but nearly got away with her 6-year-old son in the back, had he not gotten out just in time.

Deneisha exclaims, "People was coming in with my son saying, this lady just jumped in your car and your son jumped out the back seat and she drove off!"

The previous week, the school bus driver says she just finished work and went to get breakfast for her son at Wawa off of Philadelphia Pike in Claymont.

"He was sleepy so he didn't want to get out of the car, so I was like, alright, I let him lay down. I did turn the car off, but I did leave the keys there," Deneisha explained.

At some point, police say this woman walked into the store, as seen in surveillance video. Cops call her the suspect.

Deneisha says she cased her the whole time before swiping her ride.

"I didn't know what to think like I just couldn't believe it happened."

Now her parking lot is empty with no car for Uber work either.

"That's how I make extra money to afford my apartment and everything. Can't do it. I couldn't do it this weekend so I don't know without a car," Deneisha stated.

Deneisha's son exclaimed, "I pray for her to get my car back. Get me my car!"

Deneisha hopes Delaware State Police either find the stolen car or that she can get help buying a new one.

"I've been stuck in this apartment. I can't really get nowhere. I have to catch the bus or whatever to the stores or something," Deneisha said.

She's never leaving behind her keys or her kid.

Deneisha exclaimed, "Don't do it again! I sent messages out to all my friends and everybody. I don't care how much you are in a rush, don't do it!"
