1 Killed, 1 Wounded When Car Comes Under Fire in Kensington

KENSINGTON (WTXF)- Philadelphia Police are investigating a homicide Kensington, after two men traveling in a vehicle were fired upon several times.

Police responded to the shooting on the 5100 block of North Front Street shortly after 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

When police arrived on scene they found multiple shell casings and a 2015 burgundy Volkswagen Passat riddled with bullet holes, in the passenger side and rear of the vehicle. The car had crashed into a traffic light at Front and Duncannon.

A 21-year-old man was found shot in the head in the back seat of the vehicle, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 21-year-old male was able to escape the vehicle when the shooting began, but was shot in the right thigh and right foot. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and the motive is still unknown.
