Teen arrested for ramming stolen front end loader into Hopkins car dealership

A 15-year-old boy was arrested early Monday morning for attempting to rob a used car dealership in Hopkins, Minn. by ramming a stolen front end loader into the main office building.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm at Metro Motor Cars at 8660 Excelsior Boulevard at 4:51 a.m. When they arrived they saw significant damage to the front of the building caused by a front end loader and located the 15-year-old hiding inside the building.

Police later discovered the front end loader had been stolen from St. Paul and driven around for several hours before ending up in Hopkins.

The 15-year-old has not yet been charged.
