Body of woman discovered stuffed in trash bag in Tioga-Nicetown

TIOGA-NICETOWN (WTXF) - Police are investigating after a woman's body was found in North Philadelphia overnight.

Abody belonging to a woman in her 40's was discovered on the 1800 block of West Westmoreland Street just after 1 a.m.

Police say the woman was found partially stuffed in a trash bag and that there are obvious signs of trauma to the face and head. The woman's body also showed injuries to the lower torso.

This is an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
