Boil water advisory issued in Camden following main break

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) -- Officials in Camden have issued a boil water advisory for part of the city due to low water pressure resulting from a water main break.

The advisory affects neighborhoods west of the Cooper River and was put into place Thursday afternoon after a 36-inch main broke.

Affected residents are being asked to use bottled water or boil tap water for one minute to kill any potential bacteria and allow the water to cool before using it.

It's unclear if this system was contaminated after the break.

The advisory remains in effect until repairs have been made and the water is deemed safe.
