Man critical after being trapped in garbage truck in North Philly

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Crews worked to rescue a man trapped in a dumpster truck in North Philadelphia on Monday morning.

The incident took place outside the Kintock Group Home the 300 block of East Eerie Avenue.

Police say the 33-year-old man was sleeping inside the dumpster when a garbage truck lifted it and dumped it out.

The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. Police say the man suffered lower abdominal, hip and leg injuries.
