Donald Trump visits New Jersey

NEW JERSEY (WTXF) Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump came to New Jersey Thursday might to raise money for a former opponent.

He helped Governor Chris Christie retire his campaign debt, but took a few good natured jabs at Christie in the process.

As he surveyed the standing crowd at the $200-a-head rally, Trump said, "You know, Chris paid off his entire campaign debt tonight, right? His entire debt. And Chris, you can't even give them a table and a seat? That's terrible!"

Later, as Trump described his disgust at companies that move out of the U. S. to save money, he mentioned Nabisco's plan to leave Chicago for Mexico.

"I'm not eating Oreos again!" He told the crowd. "Neither is Chris! You're not eating Oreos again!" Seemingly sending it might be interpreted as a joke about Christie's weight, he quickly added, "Don't feel bad-- for either of us!"

Christie traded barbs with Trump on the presidential primary campaign trail months ago, but when he dropped out after poor showings in the early nominating contests, the New Jersey governor quickly endorsed his longtime friend.

The New Jersey primary is set for June 7.
