2 critical after Thanksgiving Day shootings in Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are investigating Thanksgiving day violence after two people were shot in separate incidents Thursday night.

The first incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on the 4700 block of Oxford Avenue.

Police say a 28-year-old man was shot multiple times and was rushed to the hospital by SEPTA Police officers. The victim was placed in critical condition.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The second incident on the 2100 block of Cambria Street in Kensington just before 7 p.m.

Officers responded to the scene to find a 29-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his back, torso and arm. He was rushed into surgery at Temple University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Investigators say the victim was in his car when the gunman approached and shot him through the open window. As many as 12 shots were fired before the gunman ran off on foot.

Police are reviewing surveillance video of the incident.
