STONE HARBOR, NJ (WTXF) - While the snow has made its way out of town, there's an imminent problem at the shore.
Strong winds still remain a problem, though the direction has changed. still a little gusty.
The major problem facing the shore this morning is the imminent high tide, which has been cause for a coastal flood warning.
With high tide expected around 8:00 a.m. more coastal flooding is expected.
Looking back at yesterday's floods in Stone Harbor shows that the flooding Saturday claimed a new record, proving to be worse than the flooding during Hurricane Sandy.
The good news is, overnight the water level did recede, likely with some help from the change in wind direction.
However, Sunday morning, conditions rose back above flood stage, and major flooding could be seen as high tide approaches.
Skies should clear later in that day as winds calm, but the forecast over the next few days could bring some showers.
