Man arrested for stabbing of 7-Eleven clerk in Center City

Philadelphia Police have arrested a man wanted in the stabbing of a 7-Eleven clerk in Center City.

Nathan Hack is 47-years-old and is currently homeless. He has been charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Theft-Unlawful Taking, Theft-Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of an Instrument of Crime, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

The incident occurred around 6:20 a.m. on Sunday when an the suspect walked into the store at 1319 Market Street.

Police say the suspect asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes, and then asked for five more. When the clerk told him the final cost, video shows the man pulling out a large knife from his pocket, and attempting to stab the cashier in the head.

The suspect then jumped onto the counter and continued stabbing the cashier in the head, neck, and shoulder. The cashier was able to fight back and knock the suspect off the counter and onto the floor.

The suspect dropped his black jacket and knife on the floor and ran out of the store without taking anything.

The cashier was treated at Hahnemann hospital and was listed in stable condition.
