Local Man Robbed While Buying Lottery Tickets

PHILADELPHIA- WTXF - A man attempting to buy lottery tickets out of a kiosk in a South Broad Street gas station had $350 stolen out of his hand, leading to a fight between the two men outside the store- and much of it was caught on security video, including the alleged assailant's license plate number.

It happened January 3 at the Sunoco gas station at 801 South Broad Street in the city's Hawthorne section. The 61-year-old complainant was buying lottery tickets at a machine when the assailant approached him, and grabbed a bag containing $350 out of his hand. The suspect then ran from the store, the complainant followed, and the two fought outside the store, at which point the complainant sustained a cut to his left leg.

The suspect fled and was seen entering a Ford Mustang, with the PA license plate tag of JHY-3783.
